The Critical Incident Response Team program (CIRT) at the Northern Society for Domestic Peace is a team of trained volunteers. The team provides support to groups or individuals in the Bulkley Valley who are suffering or may suffer psychological or emotional distress following a critical incident. Our program offers a variety of interventions that assist individuals who have been impacted by critical incidents of a traumatic nature (i.e. sudden death, witness to sudden death, a serious threat to life). The CIRT Program has assisted hundreds of people in the Northwest for over 20 years, with services being provided to first responders, fire department, police, ambulance service, search and rescue, hospital as well as community members who have been involved in, or witnessed a critical incident. The goal of the CIRT program is to help individuals mitigate the impact of a critical incident, facilitate normal recovery processes, and restore adaptive function with minimal impact to themselves, their family, their workplace and their volunteer activities To make a referral or schedule an info session please contact our team coordinator call the Northern Society for Domestic Peace at 250-847-9000 or after-hours 250-847-2595.
